National Safety Council

“For Outstanding Service to Safety”

CRITERIA

Your organization’s program must:

● Have been in place for four or more years

● Educate employees on the importance of recognizing hazards and their role in reporting

● Maintain a system for employees to report hazards, track hazard reporting and manage prompt corrective actions

● Have a system that acknowledges employee participation and engagement

National Safety Council

The National Safety Council's Million Work Hours award recognizes organizations that have completed a period of at least 1 million consecutive work hours without an occupational injury or illness resulting in days away from work.

CRITERIA

In accordance with the OSHA recordkeeping requirements, a company, location or division must have continued without the occurrence of an occupational injury or illness involving days away from work for at least 1 million consecutive work hours.

National Safety Council

National Safety Council

The National Safety Council recognizes organizations that have achieved five or more consecutive years without an occupational injury or illness resulting in days away from work.

CRITERIA

● Zero injuries involving time away from work in a consecutive five-year period

● Zero fatalities in a consecutive five-year period

● Zero work-related illnesses involving time away from work within a consecutive five-year period

National Safety Council

The National Safety Council’s Superior Safety Performance award recognizes companies, locations or divisions that have achieved a minimum of 10 consecutive years, operating without occupational injury or illness resulting in days away from work or a fatality.

CRITERIA

● Zero work-related illnesses involving time away from work

● Zero injuries involving time away from work

● Zero fatalities

National Safety Council

The National Safety Council recognizes organizations that have a 20% or more year-over-year reduction in employee injuries and illness.

CRITERIA

● 20% reduction in injuries and illnesses over previous calendar year

● Maintenance or reduction in number of fatalities over previous calendar year

● Maximum allowable injuries and illnesses for eligibility are at the discretion of NSC
